Title: Bat advice
Post by: noquiexis on November 25, 2021, 08:40:09 PM
This is mainly for Z-Dr, but anybody with sound advice can chime in.

Christine McConnell (https://twitter.com/CHMcConnell) has bats in her attic. Seriously. In her Candles in the Attic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrO8YYuyASo) YouTube video 26:28 (25 Nove 2021), she (probably unwisely) made candles in her attic, which is occupied by bats. For the curious, she starts off making a dildo, and shows some nice cleavage during the first few minutes. She makes a master mold with Smooth-On (https://www.smooth-on.com/products/oomoo-25/).

I have no clue what species of bats these are, but they are indigenous to central New York. If anyone has good advice that I can pass along, she might need it to stay safe.
Apparently, she does not want the bats removed. (Cute, but weird.)

You will have to be a little more specific as to where in the video the bats appear.

Moth balls or Moth crystals placed in knee hi stockings and hung hi in the attic where the bats roost.

Z-Dr,

You didn't see the cleavage??? One bat is shown about 19:06, but it is in a crevice and hard to see. One is flying at 23:15. One is clearly seen launching off of a wall at 25:30. I imagine that the lights, sounds, and fumes may have stirred up the bats. Whether or not they would defend their territory is something that she may need to consider. She did put on what looks like a hooded raincoat.

I couldn't really see enough to id the bat but it looks a lot like a big brown bat (Eptesicus fuscus) to me.

Bats are very shy around humans, rarely if ever aggressive, but may be a little curious.  I wouldn't recommend handling them because they will bite defensively if forced to.  Rabies is essentially a non-issue but it is still necessary to be vaccinated if you plan to handle them, just like all wild animals.  And trust me, they will try to bite you if handled.

No, I missed the cleavage.  It is a long video so it would help if you put the time of the cleavage, too. (https://dollbarandgrill.com/forum/chat/img/emoticons/evilgrin.gif)

Z-Dr,

The dildo starts at 2:33 (<-- for DG), and the cleavage starts at about 3:33, with better views at 3:48 and 6:43  The best view is at 10: 43.

I did pass along your general advice, but did not include any identifiers.  O0
