Post by: Smoke on December 27, 2021, 07:08:09 PM
This is a thread where members can divulge the secrets of their photographic genius.  A place where we can post  "how we did it's" and "how to's" . Post questions to  other members about  how they may have done a specific photo shoot with the intent of learning from each other.

"In fair Verona (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verona), where we lay our scene ..."

Not many of us can get to Verona, but there are ways to simulate being there. See Rotoscope (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotoscoping), Matte (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matte_(filmmaking)), and Digital_compositing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_compositing). You don't need to use any software to lay a scene for your photographic inspiration. You could literally 'cut & paste' printed images of your dolls onto a paper image from a mail flyer or a catalog page. This may give you the inspiration to 'set the stage' for your net photo shoot.

For my Photoshop Creations (http://www.arimecibo.com/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=11), I used a few images that I grabbed online. Do be careful with this, as some images are copyright of the owner. If you do go out and about, take photos of the places that you visit. Take a headshot of your doll with you, and imagine her or him actually being there.

KarmaMusic and I (and a few others) use Computer-generated imagery (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer-generated_imagery) (CGI) for background images. I use DAZ Studio (https://www.daz3d.com/) (Digital Art Zone) and some Poser (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poser_(software)) models for the backgrounds for my Adventures on The Holodeck (http://www.arimecibo.com/smf/index.php?topic=131.0) series. The software is free, but there is a steep learning curve. I also spent a ton of money on models that I purchased over the years. KarmaMusic likes the Unreal (https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/unreal) engine. See also List of 3D modeling software (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_3D_modeling_software) and Renderosity (https://www.renderosity.com/) to kick-start your imagination.
