Title: My first trip to Deutschland.

Post by: Phil on March 07, 2022, 04:35:59 PM: Those two beers were a disappointment. Priced comparatively to high end craft beer four packs in the states, while quality German standards like Becks are only .99 euro's a pint, they were not that good.

This Belgian Red Ale is really good, I've never seen it before, have to wonder if it can be found in the states.

Had a different kind of lunch. This dense bread was fresh. The well juiced up Egg Nog has been made here since 1868, special for Easter. Thick stuff, I cut it with a little oat milk.

One of the ubiquitous "Coffee" bars.... In the morning it's not uncommon to see punters on this bench grinding up bud for a morning smoke.

There's a brewery/restaraunt right around the corner, I'm not much for American restaurant food. Everywhere we've eaten out here is outstanding, like your mother would've made if she were an excellent cook.

This is one of the oldest buildings in Hanover. Surviving the bombs of WWII, it's been standing since the late 1500's A testament to quality.

An online search told me that the Belgian Delerium Red is exported to the states, but it's very high end at $24-26 a 12oz 4 pack, if you can find it. I'm just going to live with a rosy memory, it wouldn't be the same out of a bottle anyway.
