Title: Capitating AND Recapitating 157G SM-Doll.
Post by: Smoke on March 24, 2022, 12:39:35 PM
So, I  bought a SM-Doll body sans head, as a replacement for a Sinthetics  2D that came to an untimely end. The Sinthetics head will be adapted , or as we say in the trade " retrofitted " to the 157g body.

What can possibly go wrong? Well lets find out, shall we?    :-\

SM-Doll 157G body  sans head.  Nice titties.  :P

The Neck stump of the body has a  m16 ( no not the rifle) x2.0  nut , welded to the end of the joint piece.

In the accessory kit that came packaged with the doll came a hardware kit. There are three pieces of hardware. A  m16x2.0,  coupling nipple (not that kind of nipple) . A  m16x2.0 to m8x1.25  thread reducer nut , a  m8x1.25  eyebolt for hanging the doll.

What good are any of these pieces of hardware for mounting said head?

Stay tuned to find out.

Great titties Smoke, Ceej should be able to make an adapter, or make a custom female to female tread adapter. If you want i can make a drawing and cad model in SolidWorks for you too. Can't wait to see EJ 2.0 soon  :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks Karma but I got this.  Hold my beer for a minuet.

Please note that all hardware specs are in Canookistan inches.  (metric) .

m16x2 to m8x1.25 thread reducing nut. SM-Doll provided this in a hardware kit packaged with the doll body. This nut threads into the M-16x2 nut that is welded on to the end of the neck piece.

A m8x1.25  threaded stud threads into the end of the reducer nut. There is a nut threaded on to the stud to act as a jam nut to lock the stud in place so it can't turn.

A  5/16"x1.5 inch fender washer is installed on the stud. Please note that 5/16 inch and  m8 metric are virtually the same size for this purpose.

The skull base of the head has an existing hole drilled in it of 5/16' diameter. This fits over the M8 stud and skull base will rest on the flat washer.

Another same size flat washer is placed over the stud inside the head
.

Secured with another same size nut. This makes adjusting  the amount of force needed to turn the head easy. This will be needed to be adjusted frequently but as you can see, it is very easy access.

Time will tell.      :-\

I should also mention that the studs, nuts and flat washers were not provided by SM-Doll in the kit. They had to be purchased separately .

Well done smoke ,body and head looking great.

A long time ago I had to mod LD heads to fit on the stud method used by Sins after the headpost broke.

So the suggestion here is to use PTFE washer as well as a lock nut or self locking nut on your mod.
You can buy PTFE sheet on line if you cannot find washers to make your own.

When fitted under both washers you can tighten the lock nut down really tight so the head stays in place.
But when moved you can adjust the position with little effort thanks to the washers.

Hope that idea helps, and that body colour matches nicely ... EJ lives on ...hooray  :thumb:

Thanks Ceej.  I wasn't sure at first what I was getting myself into here, but the  hard to find stuff was already included by SM-Doll , so that made life a lot easier.

Thanks Ray!!  I didn't think of Teflon washers.  Great idea!!
