Title: lubricating inserts
Post by: scrappy on September 07, 2022, 07:27:18 PM
I'm one of 'the guys' who only has 'insert dolls'. Years ago I saw a recommendation to use hand sanitizer to lubricate the outside of the insert (noun) to make it easier to insert (verb) the insert (noun) into the doll's vag cavity. I'm wondering what the 'current wisdom' is on what to use. Hand sanitizer? Water? Water-based lube?

for setting an insert in place, hand sanitizer works like a charm  :)

It doesn't hurt the silicone, it stays wet and slippery long enough to get the insert in and situated, and dries up quickly enough that the insert holds in place snugly during use, yet you can still remove it easily enough afterwards.

I have only used isopropyl alcohol on my dolls during my tenure.

The main ingredient in hand sanitizer is isopropyl (or ethyl) alcohol (60-95%).  Ethanol is not toxic when ingested but isopropanol is, so it is wise to make sure it has completely dried (evaporated) before contact with any mucous membranes (like your tongue ).
