No, not The Dark Forest. However the other place seems to be offline. Could be something as simple as late payment of the bill. But, anybody know what the cause is?
My personal concern is that lots of my pix, old and uninteresting as they may be, are online there. On the rare occasions when I want to share, it's convenient.

KA said it was a server issue. Somehow the server missed an update or some such. Outdated software, outdated OS and outdated servers.

I'm noticing broken photo links in several 'historical' posts. Clearly I'm not the only fool who stored a lot of photos in that now-inaccessible gallery. I've got no 'smart' solution. If that gallery is 'gone forever', I'm (currently) too lazy to crawl through all of MY old posts, upload the photos, and update the links in the old posts to point to the new locations.
On the other hand, I suggest a better approach would be to write some code to change the DNS in photo links to point to dbg instead of the other site before sending the html to the client browser.

That's my big question! Are these forums associated? Or did they just happen to both use Simple Machines Forum?
Has the other website been shut down forever? Is it coming back? Or is it moving?
There was an announcement earlier this year stating the website was coming up for renewal in March and $3,000 in donations were requested. I donated $100 and asked if more was needed or if help was needed to get more donation. The website manager said nothing more was needed and the website was financially fine. Hence this did not seem like a con just to get donations or he would have requested more.
It seems to have totally shut down March 27.

Hello! (Yes, I am still alive! ;D )
I mostly dropped out of posting on any of the forums due to ongoing health and mobility problems. I gave away all of the studio jewelry and most of the wardrobe. Feodora is still here, decorating the living room as a statue. I had to let my own website go when it came up for renewal, due to medical bills eating up the funds. Administrators should note that I have not downloaded the DB&G databases for a while. I hope someone else is doing that.
I checked my links to ODC. The current HTML cover page (https://ourdollcommunity.com/) is working, as is the old HTML cover page (https://ourdollcommunity.com/index/index.php). None of the forum or gallery, or chat pages are working. "The Doll Hobby" HTML page (https://ourdollcommunity.com/index/The-Doll-Hobby.php) has an "under construction" disclaimer, but no links.
I suspect that KA never updated either the forum nor the gallery software, although we should see 'something', regardless of how outdated the software is. There is a possibility that KA needs to verify that ODC is using the right version of PHP, which all of the software uses. The webserver software and the database software has all changed since ODC first went online. If the ODC PHP version has automatically updated (likely), then the old software just cannot keep up with the changes.

I finally found out what's going on at Hostgator. It all makes sense
now. It seems they shut their server down to modify it. In the process
of shutting it down, lots of spam got in. but the reason they took it
off line and made everyone on it change servers was they were adding
Google to it. Of course no one there would say anything about that for
the last two months while I was trying to get ODC transferred - with
constant excuses as to what was taking so long. I found out yesterday
when I tried to log in and had to log in with my Google ID. I don't have
a Google ID. I called and asked about this, and they let me know that is
why the new server fees were lower. The adds would help pay for the
sites.
For the last ten years I did my best, turning down offers from anyone to
keep ODC free of adds. I'm not about to let they plaster adds all over a
site I own, especially for Google's benefit, so I shut it down. If
someone else wants to deal with having adds and being tracked, they can
do that. Call me stubborn, but Not Me. They can go fuck themselves with
a splintered broomstick.
Looking at my situation, I'm retiring soon in June, Sue is needing more
attention as is other home things, and ODC did what I set out to do -
give people a viable alternative from TDF. There are other decent forums
out there now, so ODC is no longer needed, IMO. It has been a good run,
but the run's over. I got too many other things going on to rebuild it.
IF it comes back, it will be someone else.
So there you have it. ODC is gone and is not coming back.

gone again. The gallery and home page were there for 'a while'. I guess no one (me included) wants to 'pick up the ball'. The saddest part of this 'history' is that, at this point, The Dark Forest 'wins'. Absolutely the worst source of 'helpful' information for the dollfucker demographic. Then again, the business has changed. And, not for the first time, I observe 'the revenge of technoguy' (wonder if he's still alive).

With the demise of ODC, I'm finding myself considering an 'end of an era'.
I go back to '06. Barbie arrived in '07. I don't care for TPE and haven't bothered to take photos for years. The 'market' has changed and technoguy's prediction of 'Chan winning' with cheap dolls has come true. Albeit those cheap dolls LOOK damn good. But I miss the 'old days' when the gurus of silicone posted very helpful information about what to buy and how to care for the girls. Of course many of the remaining 'old timers' are HERE as well as some newer guys with large harems and desire to share photos.
But is there a decent forum anywhere any more?
Here? I prefer to keep it small. Too much 'riff raff' for me (present company accepted) drifted in to odc over the years.
UK? Seems to have gone over to TPE discussion.
The Dark Forest? Too much history of bad blood for me to want to participate AND has also gone over to TPE AND can't be trusted because of the attempt to monetize.
