Title: Cautonary tale of shipping a doll via FedEx
Post by: scrappy on September 14, 2021, 08:17:59 AM
TL/DR based on my experience, don't ship a doll with FedEx.

Some of 'the guys' have heard my 'tale of woe' in the chatroom. I figured I'd post some of the details because the story may be a helpful warning.

Some details withheld to protect the privacy of people who attempted to help me get this doll delivered or returned.

I recently attempted to purchase my fourth doll. Previously I had my dolls delivered by DHL once and Seko twice. I've had nothing but trouble using FedEx for anything in the past. But, in this case, the agent who was assisting me with the purchase had (up to that time, but that is another story which is not mine to tell) success shipping dolls with FedEx. So I 'gave it a try'.

FedEx fucked up three times:
1) Based on clear evidence of the package label and packing tape being resealed over the package opening, the package was opened in transit. I have information to confirm that this was NOT done by customs.
2) The package was delivered to the wrong address on delivery day. This showed up in the online tracking information and initiated a substantial series of telephone calls to FedEx to try to determine what had happened and what to do to try to 'fix' it. It is certainly possible that the opening of the package occurred at that wrong address.
3) The package was not held at the FedEx depot after being retrieved from the wrong address. On one of the phone calls, I expressly instructed FedEx to hold the package. My intention was to visit the depot and inspect the package to determine if there had been tampering. Had FedEx following my instructions, I would have had the option of returning the package to the vendor. The vendor had previously agreed to this in the event of tampering.

FedEx delivered the package to a third party that had agreed to receive it for me. When I retrieved the package from the third party, I felt that I could not 'stick' them with a tampered package because they'd have no practical way to either return it to FedEx or ship it back to the vendor.

I no longer want the doll. THAT is totally 'on me'. Stubborn old fool that I am, I would not 'enjoy' a doll with which I associate the level of fuck ups I describe. (It helps that I already have three other dolls to 'enjoy'. ;) )

Subsequent attempts by me and other parties to get FedEx to ship the package back to someone who could deal with it were blocked by 'business process restrictions' (''we can't/won't do that'').

A question came up in chat about how I know the package was opened.

When the package was sealed by the manufacturer, there was a white label pasted over the lid of the cardboard shipping box. Then it was further sealed with clear tape that has 'Top-sino' printed on it. The photo shows:
- the edge of the lid which would not be visible if the white label was intact
- a couple of millimeters of offset of the 'top' to the right compared to the bottom
What the photo does not show is an additional layer of clear tape over the white label and Top-sino tape.

I have received dolls with this very same type of opening in the box many times!
It’s always done in such a way so the breasts can be squeezed.
And if they open the wrong end, it will be repeated on the other!
There is no possible reason that a package can get repeated opening like this!

One time at the hub of the other guys, I came to pick up a doll that took over 20 minutes for them to go get it!
All the while some punk kid employee stood and stared at me wearing a face mask! (This was way before COVID!)
When the doll was finally retrieved, it was practically hanging out the end of the box!
I really wish I would have gotten into that kids face exactly like a big league baseball coach does when confronting a home plate umpire, totally in his face without touching him at all!
Fucking prick!

The 'disaster' continues .... I finally made arrangements to ship the doll to Galmato Haven. Part of the delay is that he has limited room to store dolls that he's trying to sell. I shipped UPS because I don't have a Seko account, USPS can't handle a package this size (it weighed in at 90lb 7.5 oz), and both FedEx and DHL have already fucked up my dolls in transit. Well, the 'early returns' are that it happened again. UPS reports that 'something happened in transit' and the customer support system has no further details. Of course it doesn't. If the yo-yos in the field want to open a sex doll and either gawk or play, they're not going to tell anybody. I did go to the effort of replacing the Top-sino packing tape which screamed 'there is a sex doll in this box' with unmarked tape. Fortunately I thought to insure the package so it won't be a total loss.

Damn, that sucks!  I hope things work out for you in the end.  Sorry to hear that you have had such bad experiences with these shipping companies.
