A FUNNY THING
« on: December 30, 2021, 01:05:47 AM »
So the girls decided to go outside for some fresh air. As they headed out the door Zoey grabbed a toboggan of the shelf "Tired of my ears being cold"she said.At this time I will remind you that this girl will not even tell a mild dirty joke she's way to shy.

So not 5 seconds after she gets out the door I can hear her sisters laughing so hard and loud it sounds like cackling.I step out the door expecting someone to have fallen or the like. But the sight I see is Brin &Jackie laughing so hard they cant speak. Zoey turns to face me "Whats so funny?" and as I look at her I manage to only smile and say "Let me show you" I snapped a picture to show her........

Upon seeing the picture lets just say she didnt need any fake blush for a while.so I fixed her hat and they went off on their walk with her sisters teasing her asking her which she liked big ones, fat ones , or maybe short ones.......

Growing up in what, at the pre-global warming time, was a regularly snowy rural community, my family had a number of toys to ride down hills on. The one my parents called a 'toboggan' looked very much like

We also had a Flexible Flyer with metal runners which we called a 'sled'

What worked best was to take a couple of runs on fresh snow with the toboggan to pack the snow and then continue with either the toboggan or the sled. Ah - 'good old days' of childhood memories.
My harem: 2007 4woods (Barbie) 2009 Boy Toy 2017 4woods , numerous Phicens and other miscellaneous 'toys'

The semantics are informative and nostalgic, however, it is amazing that such a great picture has to go 2 posts before someone jumps in…

Zoey is such a beautiful Doll. Love the outfit.

Perhaps she needs a more sympathetic sister…named Jane. Y’know… For fun. ;)

This is a really cute and creative storyline.  I had never heard a that kind of a hat called that before either.  Live and learn.  It is a very unusual hat to have on hand.  Sometimes I wonder about you Slayers.

Getting back to the original topic...   ::)

Zoey looks great as always.  I really think she looks awesome in pink.

What Is a Toboggan: Hat or Sled?
By KRC
A Toboggan Is a Hat to Southerners
Here's what I found out on my end. From the research I've done, it appears that the southern region of the United States (the areas that use Southern American English) use the term toboggan to refer to a knit winter hat. This area includes the states of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Texas. It may also include specific regions of Oklahoma, Missouri, Maryland, West Virginia, Florida, southern Indiana, and New Mexico.

If you're in the American South, your toboggan is your hat!

TOBOGGAN CAP
Pronunciation (US):    Play     (GB):    Play
IPA (US):
Dictionary entry overview: What does toboggan cap mean?

• TOBOGGAN CAP (noun)

Ummm what did i miss. Getting back to the original topic. Zoey is a super fine addition to the Slayers. She is a custom shop unique doll and i love that she joins us here.

Hat toboggin or whatever is beside the point. The point is, Zoey is a babe and fun to see her come alive in stories.  Slayers, i sure hope you can ignore the insults and understand you are a good friend and valued here with us. Peace DM
