     The web host provides the HTTP Server, mail server, and database server, and is responsible for any security measures implemented.

     That being said, forum users should never give out personal information that they would consider 'sensitive' (address, phone number, financial information). Forum registration does require a valid email address, but anything provided in a forum user's profile is entirely voluntary. A user's Internet Protocol address (IP address) is logged in the event that this needs to be provided to law enforcement, but serves no other purpose to forum administrators.
