Made in USA? Not this PIB
« on: June 18, 2023, 10:07:19 PM »
Perhaps the Private Island  Beauty should now be moved to the TPE section. Do they still produce PIBs in America? Perhaps the mods should check on that. This is a Komioh TPE 140 with head KO#79. I was expecting the head to be a PIB knockoff, not one with "Private Island Beauties 2017" stamped on the side of her TPE head. This doll was less than $900 total. Not a bad doll, actually. Patrick had to know this was going to happen.

Nothing seems to be going on at http://privateislandbeauties.com. That is unfortunate. With recent reports of terrible customer service at Abyss and with, if no other issues, the weight of a mechadoll, PIB would have been the 'most reasonable' option for a new doll for me.
My harem: 2007 4woods (Barbie) 2009 Boy Toy 2017 4woods , numerous Phicens and other miscellaneous 'toys'

Call me Captain Obvious, like it or not. The Chinese have decimated the market with cheap dolls and lots of them. Better or worse ,that is debatable. What is not debatable is the fact that the US manufacturer can no longer compete. Now with the
Abyss debacle that is really starting to rear it's ugly head.

No one even wants second hand US made silicone dolls. Just try and sell a second hand RD, PIB or Mecha. Even if in pristine condition you will lose your shirt. Worst resale value ever.

[scrappy shrugs] I'm not price sensitive and I hate TPE. Every doll that I've bought (and kept) cost me about $6k (see my sig). I bought a Boy Toy Summer in '09. If Abyss (or Phoenix) still sold a comparable doll today AND with the excellent customer service that I experienced in '09, I'd buy that doll in preference to a Chinese-made doll. But that's just me. Probably not enough dollfuckers with my attitude to keep a US manufacturer afloat.

Just an old man standing in his  underwear on the front lawn shouting at airplanes!         :oldman:

My Doctor told me to stop doing that.    ???
