Fat Tuesday (
Mardi Gras in French) 2022 is not until
the First of March. When I went to Wal Mart on Wednesday January 19, I was surprised to see that they already had
Pączki for sale. Pączek ("poon check" {singular}), pączki ("poonch-key" {plural}) are very large Polish donuts, 300 to 450 calories each. They are only sold for a few weeks before Fat Tuesday, and then disappear for the rest of the year. After the over-indulgence of the Thanksgiving - Christmas holidays, the last thing anybody needs is more "fat food" to pack on the pounds.
That being said, I grabbed a couple of boxes (six pączki in each) and scarfed down two of them as soon as I had the groceries put way. It is not that I do not have and "will power". It is more like I don't have any "wont power". (I wont buy these just now. I wont have more than one just now.) I did a
